We have rebuilt 2 units Caterpillar 770’s rigid dump trucks in conjunction with the local Caterpillar dealer Al Bahar.
The two trucks were acquired second-hand in the local market, with over 20,000 working hours and rebuilt in the UAE before being shipped to the USA, where they will start a second life.
The current demand for all type of used equipment (used heavy machines, as well as used construction or used mining machines) remains high and as the offer on the market is low, customers are considering alternatives to find the right machine to perform the job. This is why the rebuilt equipment have become more and more popular recently.
In this particular case, one of our customers urgently needed two off-highway trucks for a project in the USA. Because of the long delivery time from factory for new equipment and the high costs involved, he decided to go for used off highway trucks. However, the quality of the trucks was important to our customer who couldn’t afford any down time.
The best option came as buying two used dump trucks and have Al Bahar do a complete Caterpillar Power Train (CPT) rebuilt on them. This program includes a full rebuilt of the engine, the transmission, the torque converter and the axles. As the components have been fully rebuilt by a certified Caterpillar dealer, the trucks are eligible for a warranty, same as if they were new trucks.
On top of the important mechanical work realized by Al Bahar, the dump trucks were completely overhauled cosmetically in our workshop, where an extensive work has been done by our mechanics, including fitting new liners on the body, full reconditioning of the cabin (seat, dashboard, upholstery, …), fitting new tyres, new paint, etc…
In less than three months, the dump trucks were finished and on their way to the USA.

 

Southwest Global has just acquired a fleet of several used track type tractors Caterpillar D8T’s.

The dozers have been working locally in the Middle East Region and have been under a Full Service Contract from the Caterpillar dealer.

They are equipped with SU blades and Single Shank rippers (with option to fit Multi Shank rippers instead).

 

The dozers in tidy condition, ready to go to work!

 

They are now available for sale or rent (long term rental projects), and can be inspected in our yard in the Jebel Ali Free Zone, Dubai.

 

You won’t find nicer units in the UAE!

Last week we received 4 x Caterpillar 777E´s currently being commissioned on site.

 

These new trucks are part of a package of 10 x Off Highway Trucks that will be deployed in a Coal Mine on a long term rental project.

Southwest Global is also involved in large project support, renting mining equipment for long term contracts in a number of countries.

 

Once assembled and delivered on site, these trucks will be able to carry more than 100 tons of material per load!

Today we are delivering ten used articulated dump trucks Volvo A40G´s to one of our customers.

These second-hand trucks have been prepared in our workshop in Jebel Ali, Dubai (UAE) before being shipped to Africa.

All the machines that are prepared in our facilities undergo a thorough assessment, identifying all the necessary points of repairs and cosmetics that are needed to deliver the best quality of service.

Once all the units are finished and before they get handed over to the customer, they go through a final checklist, making sure all the highlighted points in the assessment have been covered.
